Sony displays its unique fuel cell concepts battery charger at world’s largest fuel cell exhibition, FC EXPO 2009 which will start at 27-feb-2009. These fuel cell concepts battery chargers allow you to charge your cell phones, PMPs or the fuel-powered, completely-wireless.
The system contains both a methanol fuel cell and a Li-Ion battery which enables it to switch between power from the battery, fuel, or even both depending on the power requirements. Excess power from the fuel-cell component is stored in the Li-Ion battery.

Sony will display 2 models – a portable one and non portable one. The portable fuel cell battery charger will come with a single USB port which helps you charge your cell-phones for a week. While the larger one or the non-portable one has two USB ports and can charge house hold devices. Apart from these they are also displaying Fuel cell based Wireless Home Theatre Speakers, the hybrid fuel-cell component of which could apparently keep them powered for a year from a single refuel.
